Lalvin BRL97 is a wine making yeast suggested for use in Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Barbera, Merlot, and Nebbiolo wines.

S. cerevisiae • cerevisiae

Isolated at the University of Torino in Italy from a Nebbiolo fermentation.

Fast starter and a moderate speed fermenter, demonstrat­ing good MLF compatibility and high alcohol tolerance. Helps retain both the color and the varietal character in grapes sensitive to color loss.

Lalvin BRL97 may be blended with wines fermented with RA17, RC212 or W15 wine making yeasts to enhance complexity.

This product is a 500 gram brick of yeast.

The yeast was fresh and had an expiration date of Dec 2018 (I purchased in Oct 2016). Fermentation hummed along as expected. Delivery was on date promised. Very satisfied with purchasing from Presque Isle Wine. I was able to call to discuss the order before placing it online. They were knowledgeable and friendly. This was my first purchase from them and certainly not my last.

Seems to be working very well on Chilean Merlot and Carmenere juice witha a brix of 22. Fermentation is a a lower level than others I have used but seems to be strong.
