Available locally only at PIWC, this dry, medium-bodied red is a true hidden gem and has been highly awarded at competitions over the years. Our 2021 joins our 2017 and 2011 vintages in being selected as one of Pennsylvania’s Top 10 Wines and our 2016 vintage was selected Pennsylvania’s Best Dry Red at the 2018 Pennsylvania Wine Competition. This relatively new German variety, not often found on American wine store shelves, grows wonderfully in our region and is a real must-try for all wine adventurers. Our Dornfelder was aged in both French and American oak barrels, boasting hints of rich berries and aromatic spices.
Ending in a pleasant dried-cherry and light tannin finish, this vintage can be enjoyed nicely on its own or paired with game and red meat cuts.
