2010 FRESH GRAPE LIST: Updated Aug 26, 2010 - 8.30am

*Winemaker's Update - Thursday, August 26*

I was out in the vineyards scouting the past few days and am very excited for this year!! Grapes look beautiful with verasion (color change) occurring or almost complete  in every vineyard I looked at.  The flavors are already existent in some of the grapes that I sampled. This is going to be an outstanding year this year.

We have had a little bit of rain the past few days which has plumped up the berries a little bit. It was just enough to take a little stress off the vines, as long as we stay hot and dry until  harvest we will be very happy.

It is shaping up to be a vintage year here in the Lake Erie grape growing region. So hurry up and get your orders in to be assured your part of this tremendous year.

Kris Kane, PIWC Winemaker

Our Product:  The key to making good wine is starting with good grapes.  We purchase our fruit from the best local and regional growers and our winemaker and staff are actively involved in year-round partnership with our grower communitiy to maintain the highest quality standards in viticulture and handling and processing the grapes.  We believe in establishing strong relationships with our growers and insist on a commitment to quality practices from all growers with whom we continue to do business.  We stand by our growers who maintain that commitment and move on from those who don't.  This approach provides a consistent supply of quality fruit for our customers and for us and a consistent and reliable market for our growers. We are proud that many of our growers have been with us for years.

Ordering Information:  We schedule our grape purchases according to reserved quantities and may not have extra beyond the reserved quantity. We try to keep extra on hand, but are not always able. Therefore we strongly advise that you reserve your order in advance.  Orders are accepted in the order received so we recommend you get your order in early.  Walk-in orders are welcome but can only be fulfilled on an availability basis.  Orders are accepted by phone or via e-mail.  Please include your phone number and e-mail address so we can inform you of changes or if we can't fill your order.  You may check on your order status by calling at (800) 488-7492 or e-mailing us.  Please include your order number with your inquiries.  We aren't able to ship fresh grapes or juice by common carrier.

Prices:  Prices shown below are for retail customers.  Commercial customers please call for a 2010 grape and juice list.  Grape prices listed are for fewer than 2000 lbs. Deduct 10% for over 2000 lbs; 27% for over 4000 lbs if picked up at one time.  Varieties may be assorted for quantity discount levels.  Prices below do not include containers. We carry a variety should you need to purchase them.  We provide a crusher-stemmer and press for your use free of charge if you purchase grapes from us; otherwise they may be rented for $6.00 plus $2.00 per hour for use in excess of 2 hours.

Final Order Confirmation:  As your pickup date approaches we recommend you confirm your reservation.  Please notify us if you need to cancel or change your pickup date so we can try to modify your order and adjust our reserved quantities.  No-show orders will be cancelled.   Farming being an inexact science subject to the whims of the gods, it sometimes happens that growers' yields are less than expected.  We try mightily to ensure adequate supply to meet reserved quantities, but are not always able to do this.  Particularly if driving a long distance, please call or e-mail to confirm your reservation before leaving.

Payment:  is due upon pickup; cash, check, MC/VISA, or Discover are all acceptable forms of payment.

Grape orders must be picked up at the winery.  We do not ship grapes by common carrier.
